November 9 & 10, 2013 With the Reverend Nigel Mumford Experience God’s Healing through Prayer: Healing of Emotions, Memories, and Body, Soul & Spirit Healing Seminar ~ Sat: 9am-2pm |
Currently, he is the CEO of his own charity: By His Wounds, Inc. a not-for profit charity, focusing on Christian Healing. Nigel was the director of the healing ministry at Christ the King, Spiritual Life Center, Greenwich NY with the Episcopal Dioceses of Albany since 2004. Nigel was born and educated in England. He served for six and a half years in Her Majesty’s Royal Marine Commandos and continued his education while in the armed forces. His last two years as a Marine were spent as a drill instructor at the Commando Training School (CTCRM). His conviction to pray for healing came in 1989 when his sister, Julie Sheldon, a ballet dancer with the Royal Ballet in London, was healed by God through the late Canon Jim Glennon. This was a very dramatic healing from a disease called Dystonia, a neurological condition that curled her up into a fetal position and left her very close to death. | Being a witness to her healing has had a profound effect on his life. Three years, later Nigel attended a Healing Mission led by Canon Glennon at Trinity Church in Tariffville, Connecticut and was asked to give a testimony. While he was speaking from the pulpit, he experienced a miraculous healing himself. He credits this event as the beginning of his own active participation in the Healing Ministry. In 2008, Nigel, and two other retired military men, created “The Welcome Home Initiative”(WHI) a program of healing for veterans. This program invites men, & women of our Armed Forces (from all wars), who have served in combat, to come “free of charge” and be “welcomed home.” Our focus is on healing for Post-Traumatic Stress. More information on this program is found at our website: www.byhiswoundsministry.org |
In October 2009, Nigel was hospitalized over 2 months with H1N1, pneumonia and secondary pneumonia and was near death. He was in a chemical induced coma for 19 days, and on a ventilator. The pulmonologist told him; “you were as close to death without dying that I have ever seen”. Nigel continues to gives thanks and praise to all the intercessors who lifted him up in prayer. He is alive because of prayer. Thank you Jesus!
Outside the ministry, Rev. Mumford enjoys boating, swimming, writing, and playing the violin, bagpipes, and clarinet. He lives with his wife Lynn.
The ministry of healing started at Trinity Tarrefville with Cannon Jim Glennon 31 years ago… thanks be to God.
