It is with a sweet sadness that we need to inform you that our sister and saint, Barbara Karadimas, died this morning and entered into the greater glory of God. Barbara was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. All who met her came away knowing that she was a person who knew the Lord, and loved him deeply. She served the Lord in so many ways, from her years as a Sunday School director to her ministry of visiting people who could no longer travel to church. She loved to worship and, even while she
couldn't attend services in person, would sing along with the hymns and songs and say the responses aloud. She brings to mind the words of Job who said, "As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives and that at the last, he will stand on the earth. After my awaking, he will raise me up and in my body I shall see God. I myself shall see, and my eyes behold him who is my friend and not a stranger.
We will find comfort in our loss knowing Barbara is now in the one place she has always wanted to be, and speaking with him, who has been her Lord and also her friend.
O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death, and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that your servant Barbara, being raised with him, may know the strength of his presence, and rejoice in his eternal glory; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
