Meadowbrook Mission
Musicians and parishioners have been gathering at Meadowbrook of Granby, an assisted living facility, every Sunday afternoon for many years to lead a non-denominational church service with the facilities' residents and guests.
We are very grateful for those faithful volunteers who continue to give of their time and talent every Sunday afternoon as they plan, prepare and perform this heartfelt service. |
A heartfelt service at a local assisted living facility. |
Some of the residents attend that service just because of the music! Music includes singing, guitar and percussion, raising voices of all ages and abilities in the old, familiar hymns. We often find that even residents who are non-verbal will join in singing the familiar songs they've known their entire lives.
Special appreciation for Fred Fitzgerald, who organizes all of the volunteers who offer music, read lessons, deliver homilies, assist with transporting the residents, and help residents turn to the correct page in the music and prayer book during the service. |
