2020 Vision:
Seeking God's Plan for Trinity's Future
On January 20, 2010, we began a process of praying, planning, and prioritizing for our various ministries at Trinity over the next ten years, looking ahead to the year 2020.
Here are the ministry priorities we have agreed on.
Here are the ministry priorities we have agreed on.
EVANGELISM:
Ambassadors for Christ – God making his appeal through us. Evangelism is the first priority for our parish because Jesus’ sends his followers to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28). In his last message to us before ascending into heaven, he said “Thus it is written that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations. You are witnesses of these things.” (Luke 24). This charge of Jesus to his followers is called “The Great Commission.” |
WORSHIP:
Meaningful, Engaging, Accessible and Transformative Worship Our aim is to develop worship services that connect people and God in a meaningful, accessible and culturally relevant way. This means no compromise on the unchanging truth of the Gospel but flexibility on the style and structure of worship. |
YOUTH, YOUNG ADULTS, AND YOUNG FAMILIES:
Reaching the Next Generation Hire and sustain full-time staff person to lead team of volunteers in Junior/Senior High youth ministry. Rebuild ministry with young families (married with small kids) and young adults. |
FELLOWSHIP:
Building up the Body of Christ Be more intentional about creating opportunities for making friends, and strengthening friendships for the purpose of building a stronger Christian community. |
DISCIPLESHIP:
Equipping the Saints for the work of Ministry To be more intentional about making serious, mature and focused disciples of Jesus Christ in every age group: children, teens and adults, and specifically to build our Sunday morning adult education program. To strengthen existing programs: ALPHA, Emmaus, Men’s and Women’s Bible studies. |
PASTORAL CARE:
Love one another as Christ has loved us Improve the overall care of parish members, especially in the areas of healing, visitation and ministry to those who are in short-term family crisis. |
OUTREACH/MISSIONS:
Making Disciples of all nations Improve our effort to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel through (local) outreach and (foreign) missions. |
COMMUNICATIONS:
Finding new ways to proclaim the Good News Strengthen our communication with parish members and with the wider community about events, opportunities and ministries at Trinity, with an increased focus on electronic and social media. |
