Why is our Back to School Blessing so Important?
September has always been a month where we dedicate one Sunday to praying for our students, teachers and families returning to school. This year, however, we are even more aware of our need for God's blessing, protection and help. Two years of Covid have added additional anxiety and challenges for both kids and adults in our schools. Students also deal with the fears of violence at school in ways that was not part of our own school experience. For these reasons, we, as a church family want to be an extension of God’s presence and care for our families. For a kid to know that God is with me and that my church family is praying for me can be a powerful sense of security. Our goal is to provide that sense of multi generational support every Sunday here at Trinity and especially when we pray for our students and teachers on September 11.
Parish leadership has been invited to register up to five members for the ordination of our new bishop, Rev. Jeffrey Mello.Registration closes on September 18. A separate lottery registration will open afterwards for any available seats in the Connecticut Convention Center. If you would be interested in attending Rev. Mello's ordination, contact the office.
