Requirements for Indoor Worship |
Requirements for Outdoor WorshipPlease make plans to join us in worship, in person, as we begin to find safe ways to gather.
We will be following the guidelines the Episcopal Church in Connecticut has suggested, so please read the information below carefully. If you have questions, give the church office a call!
Please bring:
|
Please do not bring:
- Umbrellas or anything that will block the view of those behind you, unless you plan to sit in the back. Seating will be available in the shade.
- Pets, unless they are certified as service animals.
- Symptoms: This is absolutely the most important! Please, please do not attend if you have any possible COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, cough, and shortness of breath. A list of symptoms can be found here.
FAQs for in-person, outdoor worship:
Will we still have the online service at 9:45am?
Yes! Please continue to join us on Facebook, Zoom, or our website at 9:45am on Sunday! Better yet, share, start a Facebook watch party, and invite your friends to join!
What if it rains?
Stay home! Stay dry! We won't gather, in-person, in the rain. You can still worship online (see previous question).
Where do I park?
Plan to park in the far 'new' lot. A Parking Minister will guide you. Please allow each person or family to get settled before you enter the seating area, maintaining distancing. Remember to drive carefully as you enter the parking, as people will be carrying chairs, wearing masks, and feeling distracted.
How will I know where to go?
There will be ushers on hand to show you where to park, help you check in, and show you where to set your chairs. Please be ready to provide your name as they check you in - it's hard to recognize people in a mask, without their Zoom room name!
Will we have Holy Communion?
Yes, it will look a little different, but we are offering communion at this time.
Peace be with you! Wait, will we exchange the peace?
Only at a six foot distance! Practice flashing the peace sign, do a small bow, try jazz hands, or your personal wave with a smiling eyes above your mask works too.
Will there be music?
From all the research so far, singing appears to be a dangerous vector for transmission of this virus. We want to keep everyone safe, so we won't be singing until further guidance is available. Additional research is expected.
Can I bring my children?
We love your children and Wiggly Church is designed just for them! They are also welcome to join you at the early service. Please plan to help them stay within the guidelines of the protocols listed here. We would love to see them (and you). If you want an "edge seat" so they can move and explore, let an usher know.
Will I have access to the building - including (especially) the bathrooms?
The building has to be maintained safely for those videoing the 9:45 am service. Any time a person enters the building, we have to disinfect. So, the building is closed. That being said, bathrooms will be available if needed, but users can only enter one (household) at a time and will need to do disinfectant cleaning with supplies that the church provides after use.
Will face masks be available?
Please bring your own. There will be a limited number available as an emergency back up.
Is this the way "church" is going to be for a while?
That's a great question. The answer is...we don't know! We are waiting for more research, and for additional guidance from the State of Connecticut, the CDC, the WHO, the Episcopal Church in Connecticut, and the Farmington Valley Health District.
We are grateful that our Church never closed - the work of worship, serving, and growing with God never paused, and never will. We are grateful for the technology, and the generous sharing of talent by those in our parish, the grace of our church family, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, all working together to continue the work of the Lord here in Tariffville.
Be a part of it, wherever you are!
