Palm Sunday at Trinity Tariffville

We will have two services on Palm Sunday, with a special coffee hour in between.
  • 8:00am - Quiet service, with Holy Communion and the reading of the Passion.
  • 9:00am - Outdoor Coffee Hour! Come chat and catch up as we prepare for Holy Week.
  • 9:45am - We'll start the service with palms outside, then follow musicians into the church for a service of Holy Communion and the reading of the Passion.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the holiest week of the Christian Calendar, when we remember Jesus' suffering and death on the cross to save us from our sins. The week culminates in Jesus' glorious resurrection.
Come be a part and prepare your heart for the celebration of these miraculous events!

Maundy Thursday

On Maundy Thursday, Christians remember how Jesus met with the disciples for the Last Supper. Jesus gave His disciples a new commandment, saying:

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another."

We will commemorate Jesus' words and actions as we gather to pray, sing, and participate in Holy Communion.

Good Friday

Good Friday is the day on which our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ suffered death on the cross to save us from our sins. At this service, we will hear the Word of God, sing anthems and hymns to proclaim the love of God in Christ, and take time to ponder the the great sacrifice of Jesus.

Be a part of this meaningful service.

Holy Saturday - Service of Light

In this outdoor service, we'll start with a bonfire, then light our own candles as we celebrate God's story and the Light of Christ in word and song on Easter Eve.

What is Lent?

Lent is the six week period of time in the church calendar that starts on Ash Wednesday and leads us to Easter.  The Lenten season invites Christians to a closer walk with God as we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The first Christians observed with great devotion the days of our Lord’s passion and resurrection, and it became the custom of the Church to prepare by a season of penitence and fasting.

In 2022, we're grateful that we're able to gather in ways that weren't safe in 2021. You're invited to join in practices and events at Trinity, from home, or on Zoom that will help you draw closer to God.

Scroll down to learn more about small groups, Ash Wednesday, Lenten Retreats, and more.

Community Conversations

Join the conversation on Tuesday nights as we hear from local leaders and talk about life, family, God, and important issues impacting our neighbors.

On Tuesday evenings in Lent (except March 15), we'll hear a variety of perspectives through an interview format, followed by a question and answer session. We'll then break into small groups as we seek to find out where God is already at work in the community and how we might be called to serve. Participation is in person or on Zoom.

Registration is required, whether participating on Zoom, in-person in the Sanctuary, or a mix of both.

Lent Madness

Picture
Lent Madness
Lent Madness is a unique Lenten devotion where 32 saints are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Each day, celebrity bloggers write to champion their saint of the day, and people are invited to vote for their favorite saint. From the Lent Madness website,
"As Lent Madness continues to grow and evolve, what won’t change is the essence of Lent Madness: allowing people to get to know some amazing people who have come before us in the faith and reminding one another that there’s no reason for a dreary Lenten discipline. If this helps people connect with the risen Christ during this season of penitence and renewal, and have a bit of fun in the process, then it continues to be worthwhile."
Join in the fun, vote often, and learn something about the saints in this Lenten exercise.
