Sunday School for Youth

 

Youth ages 6th -12th grade are invited to Sunday School, held weekly during the school year at 10:15am on Sundays. This year, the classes will be covering the following:

 

Middle School (6th, 7th & 8th Grades):

Knowledge:

  • Discover how Old Testament prophesies were fulfilled regarding Christ.
  • Discover Biblical principles that apply to everyday life.

Bible Study Skills:

  • Master skills in using Bible dictionaries and concordances.
  • Memorize the books of the Bible and verses related to unit themes.

Attitudes:

  • Appreciate the importance of making decisions that are based on Christian values and principles.
  • Feel confident that God will love them in spite of failures and doubts.
  • Receive Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Behavior:

  • Accept family responsibility and communicate with their parents.
  • Develop strength to refuse to do wrong.
  • Learn how to encourage peers.

Middle School Curriculum Content, 2011-2012

Fall, 2011:

1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles, Nehemiah, Daniel, Malachi, Hebrews

Choosing and losing. Royalty & Loyalty. Wise to Advise.

Winter, 2011-2012:

Acts, Galatians, Philippians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Timothy, Titus, 2 Peter

The Person Christ Needs. The Job Christ Gives. The Power Christ Provides.

Spring, 2012:

Esther, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Amos, Jonah, Micah

A Time for Decision. A Time for Concern. A Time for Courage.

 

High School Sunday School (Grades 9, 10, 11, 12)

Knowledge:

  • Deepen their understanding of the uniqueness of Christ.
  • Apply Biblical texts to complex contemporary situations.
  • Recognize false religions and cults through proper use of scripture.

Bible Study Skills:

  • Learn advanced inductive Bible study skills for major life decisions.
  • Gain experience in interpreting words and passages within scripture.

Attitudes:

  • Trust Jesus as their personal Savior and experience the joy.
  • Gain confidence in God’s total direction for their lives.

Behavior:

  • Be willing to stand against negative peer pressure.
  • Develop their creative abilities to the glory of God.
  • Set immediate and long-range goals for Christian growth and personal development.
  • Find active ways to serve others.
