Trinity Church’s Candlelight Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols will usher in the joyous and reverent season of Christmas with the retelling of Christ’s birth. This is a beloved tradition patterned after the service from King’s College, Cambridge. Trinity’s readers and choirs will offer their musical gifts under the direction of Mary Rose DiGiovanna, Music Director, accompanied by our wonderfully faithful and skillful accompanist Larry Bishop, Church of the Redeemer, New Haven, CT.

Festival Choral Evensong
with the Trinity Festival Choir and the Rev. Canon Francis Howard
Sunday, May 6, 2012
4:30pm
Choral Evensong is a service of reflection with readings and hymns, psalms and canticles and here, accompanied by a sermon. This beautiful service joining language and music can speak to us of God in a powerful and personal way. Our guest preacher Fr. Howard, Rector Emeritus of Trinity and retired Episcopal priest is currently an assisting clergyman in Longmeadow, MA. Fr. Howard began the tradition of Evensong and Lessons and Carols at Trinity thirty–five years ago! Mr. George Chittenden hails from England and Scotland and is currently the Assistant Organist at Christ Church Cathedral, Hartford. It is a pleasure to welcome him back to Trinity.
