Helping Neighbors Nearby

In obedience to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16 – 20), Trinity Church supports many local and international projects and missionaries, often in cooperation with others. Anyone who is interested in learning more about our mission projects is invited to contact the team leader listed in each section below. The missionaries we support can also be reached through the websites or phone numbers listed below. Please keep all of the these people and projects, and those they serve, in your prayers.

Lunch in the Park

Once a month, a team from Trinity prepares and serves a lunchtime meal for hungry and homeless people in Bushnell Park in Hartford. In addition to serving the meal, the team also spends time in friendship and fellowship with the people who gather to receive the bag lunch. Prior to the distribution of each meal, Trinity hosts a worship service in the park to which all are invited to receive communion and enter a relationship with Christ.

Kairos Prison Ministry

This 4-day in-prison experience is open to both men and women. Once a year, 35 people, from all different Christian denominations, spend a long weekend in a maximum security prison, presenting a program of lectures, songs, forgiveness and prayer. Men minister to men, and women to women. Each month, team members reunite with inmates to support them. The Kairos Prison Ministry is the “most effective prison program,” according to the Department of Correction. In 15 years, 3,000 inmates have come closer to Christ in 45 weekends. Six Trinity parish members have participated in Kairos.

Monthly reunions are held at Trinity to encourage teens to continue in their walk with Christ.
