Education Hour: Sunday Morning Adult Education and Sunday School

The ALPHA Course
“What am I doing here?” “Is there more to life?” “Is this it?”
These questions and more are explored in the ALPHA Course, offered yearly at Trinity. The ALPHA class includes dinner, a brief lecture, and time spent in small groups exploring the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly way. An optional weekend retreat is included in the program. Alpha is for anyone…many who participate have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. Still others are looking for a renewed understanding of their faith. Everyone is welcome.
For answers to your questions about the ALPHA course, please contact Father Tom 860.658-0201
Trinity Library
The Trinity Lending Library provides books and other materials (videos, tapes and cds) on a variety of topics important to matters of faith. You will also find copies of Trinity’s sermons in the library. Feel free to browse the shelves and check out materials. If you’re looking for an opportunity to volunteer, the Library could use your help organizing and shelving books, and selecting titles of interest to parishioners.
Please contact Lucian (lucascio@yahoo.com) or Elaine at 860.254.5857 if you are able to help.
Fellowship

Weekly coffee hours after the 9:00 and 10:30 Sunday services give parishioners the opportunity to draw closer as brothers and sisters in Christ. Frequent special events (dinners, receptions, etc.) held in the Parish Hall also offer the opportunity to talk and laugh and get to know each other in a relaxed setting. Oh, and those famous “church pot-luck dinners” are even better than you can even imagine. Please join us!

Community Bible Study

This Bible study meets on Thursday mornings in Avon and is open to all. Men and women who participate dig deeply into the Word of God through weekly homework, small group discussions, and a lecture. The first Thursday of each month is Visitor’s Day. An excellent children’s program, for children ages infant – kindergarten is offered at the same time as the adult Bible Study, where children are taught by caring and creative teachers using crafts, music, story-telling, and playtime. A number of Trinity members participate in Community Bible Study, some in leadership. In the 2011-2012 school year, the group is studying the Book of Deuteronomy and the Book of Hebrews.
