Programs for Children

Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16-17

It’s been said that “children are the future of the church,” but at Trinity, we believe that children are an important part of the church here and now. We understand the importance of the role that the local faith community can have in the life of a child, and we strive, through programming and prayer, to help parents provide their children with a solid Christian foundation. We offer a creative, challenging, and strengthening program for all of our children including Sunday School, Children’s Worship, Children’s Choir programs, Summer Vacation Bible School, Training for First Communion, Nursery Care, and other events just for children. It is our goal, in partnership with each parent, to help our young people be a shining light for the Lord in all they say and do.

We love our children and we want each child to feel safe and secure in Trinity’s huge family: the family of Christ.

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered weekly to children and youth, ages preschool through grade 12. Trinity’s Sunday School teachers are dedicated to helping their students learn the Word of God and become disciples of our Lord. Developmentally-appropriate materials are sent home each week including Bible Stories, family activities and daily devotions. Parents are invited to help provide snacks for Sunday School (a favorite part of Sunday morning for kids of all ages!) and help in other ways. Learn more here.

Nursery Care

Loving, professional nursery staff provide care for our youngest members and guests starting at 9:00am on Sundays and ending at 11:45am. You can feel confident leaving your little ones while you enjoy worship and adult education. Parents dropping off their children are given beepers so they can be reached if needed.

Children’s Chapel Worship

Children’s Worship is held on the Second and Fourth Sunday of each month in the Chapel for children ages Preschool – 5th grade. It is a time of music, prayer, story-telling, and memory bible verses, presented in a larger, mixed-age group. Parents are invited to be a part of Children’s Worship, helping with music or other parts of the worship service.

Children’s Choir Programs

Trinity offers three Children’s Choirs, which are open to children and youth ages four and up. Children from the community and the parish are invited to participate in Trinity’s Chorister program. We follow the model of the Royal School of Church Music in training young musicians to use their gifts to glorify God. Rehearsals for the Children’s Choirs take place on Wednesdays. Summer Vacation Bible School

VBS is the best week ever in the minds of our campers! Filled with games, singing, crafts, snacks, jumping into the stories of the bible in a multi-sensory way, there is never a dull moment. We use the VBS curriculum from Group Publishing, and campers age kindergarten – fifth grade enjoy the week filled with non-stop fun and growing in their faith. Youth ages 6th grade and up are eligible to apply to be a VBS “Pal” and help lead the fun.

Training for First Communion

Our training program for children planning to celebrate First Communion in the spring takes them through Scriptural history of The Lord’s Supper and prepares them to understand this important step of faith.
