“On that same day, two of them were going to a village named Emmaus.  They were talking to each other about all the things that had happened.  And as they talked and discussed, Jesus drew near and walked along with them.” Luke 24:13-14 Emmaus is a weekend retreat program for people of high school age who are seeking to grow in their relationship with Christ, regardless of their present level of faith and practice.  The purpose of the weekend is to give youth an opportunity to reflect upon themselves and their relationship to God and community.  Emmaus is an ecumenical retreat program.  North Central Emmaus had their first weekend in November 1989.  There have been two weekends a year ever since, and approximately 600 teens have been through the weekend.  The weekend consists of several spiritual talks and small group discussions led by various lay people and clergy.  Many of these leaders are young people who have already experienced Emmaus.  The format allows time for personal reflection, socialization, song and even a few surprises!  All of this takes place in a warm, relaxed, loving atmosphere.  If you are interested in sponsoring a youth or if you are in high school and want to be sponsored contact the Church office.
