Annual Candlelight Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

Trinity Church’s Candlelight Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols will usher in the joyous and reverent season of Christmas with the retelling of Christ’s birth.  This is a beloved tradition patterned after the service from King’s College, Cambridge in England.  Trinity’s readers and choirs will offer their musical gifts under the direction of Mary Rose DiGiovanna, Music Director, accompanied by guest organist, Larry Bishop.

Festival Choral Evensong
with The Trinity Festival Choir and Guest Preacher
The Right Reverend James Elliot Curry

Choral Evensong is a service of reflection with readings and hymns from the Psalms and canticles, accompanied by a sermon.  This beautiful service joining language and music can speak to us of God in a powerful and personal way.  Our guest preacher, Bishop Curry, has been Bishop Suffragan of Connecticut for the past nine years.  His main objective is to provide vision for the proclamation of God’s Word.  We also welcome for the first time, Mr. Kevin Jones, Canon Precentor and Director of Music of Christ Church Cathedral, Hartford, who will accompany our choral service. 

A reception will follow in the Parish Hall
